JUKIMA features
A complete protection layer for every file you create, edit, save, or download.
Event-driven monitoring
JUKIMA does not scan your disk on a timer. It listens to native OS events: Windows USN Journal and ReadDirectoryChangesW; Linux inotify and fanotify. The moment a file changes, protection begins.
Smart deduplication
SHA-256 content hashing means identical files are stored once. Photo.jpg, photo-copy.jpg, and photo-final.jpg all reference the same encrypted block. Folder-level fingerprints skip whole duplicate trees.
ZSTD compression
Files are compressed before storage with Facebook's ZSTD. Speed is the priority — you get excellent space savings without maxing out your CPU.
AES-256 encryption
Every block is encrypted with AES-256. Passwords are hashed with Argon2. Transport between your device and the cloud uses TLS. Nothing sensitive is stored in plain text.
Incremental versioning
The first backup is a full snapshot. After that, only changed blocks travel. Every version is kept, so you can restore a document from 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00.
Crash and power recovery
If your computer crashes mid-backup, JUKIMA resumes cleanly. On startup it checks the last protection state, the missed-change queue, and pending backups, then continues where it left off.
Adaptive resource control
JUKIMA monitors CPU, RAM, disk, network, and battery. When you are busy, it throttles. When you are idle, it accelerates. Below 30% battery, heavy compression and large transfers are deferred.
SQLite index
A local SQLite database keeps the file index, hashes, versions, encryption metadata, and backup status. Fast queries, low overhead, no dependency on a remote server.
Background service
The UI can close, but the Rust protection service keeps running. If someone tries to stop it, the system explains the risk and asks for confirmation.
Cloud-ready architecture
JUKIMA is built for a future where the agent talks to an API server, a storage cluster, and a backup database. Device management, remote restore, and centralized controls are part of the plan.
Cross-platform
Windows 10 and 11. Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, and Linux Mint. The architecture is ready for macOS. One codebase, one protection model.
Always-on, even when locked
Screen locked does not mean backup stops. JUKIMA continues protecting files while you are away, resuming normal speed when you return.
